Christianity, the known and the hidden. Let’s talk about you and your faith!
Bantu. How important is Religion and Spirituality to us? These concepts mediate between people’s physical/outer and ideal/inner worlds, providing frameworks for understanding existence and connecting you to something larger/greater than yourself. Since we are in a book club, let us aim to understand both concepts from one of the many books in our library, the book is called Dictionary of All Scriptures and Myths, by George Arthur Gaskell. We want to compare spirituality and religion(Christianity) to find similarities and maybe connections which will help us, bantu to reclaim our minds and remember ourselves. First we need to know the difference between esoteric and exoteric, these are the keyes that will help us unlock the two sides of our world.
What is Esoteric and what is Exoteric?
Esoteric refers to knowledge intended for or understood by only a select few. In contrast, exoteric knowledge is intended for or understood by the general public. Using the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible, let’s explore an example of esoteric understanding; it could be the interpretation of symbolic passages in the Book of Revelation or Kings, requiring special knowledge of symbolism and historical context of words and the translations thouhgout time from the old languages to modern tounges.
The exoteric understanding would be the readily accessible moral lessons and historical narratives found throughout all of society, ususally enforesed by the ruling groups of each timeline.
Why are religion and spirituality even a thing?
Religious traditions offer a means to navigate these different dimensions of human experience through daily practices, affirmations, prayer and the reading of the lessons in the BIBLE.
Spirituality offer a path to be rooted in the Earth itself, recognizing it as the origin and support for all that exists. Providing a means to navigate the hidden depths of the subconscious mind through pouring libations to ancestors, earth and heavenly bodies (SUN, MOON and STARS) preparing libation, lighted temples in our homes and connecting with all.
Bantu we should investigate the meeting point to these two concepts and through knowledge of self, harmonise them to lift ourselves up to our risen sun in man.
Let us look at the current world view of each concept
- Organised, exoteric/outer/historic crhistianity
- Organised, exoteric/outer/historic spirituality/culture
General criticisms against organised, personal and history based Christianity include accusations of violence, corruption, promoting superstition, homophobia, and bigotry in the name of God. Critics also point to the existence of other religions as a challenge to Christianity’s exclusive claims to truth. Christians often defend against these criticisms by citing specific instances or historical inaccuracies used to support the claims such as a bible verse that means something totally different if it were being viewed by a bantu who knows the coded messages in the stories. Differentiating between the actions of individuals and the core teachings of Christianity is another accusation by critics. They might also highlight the positive impact of Christianity on society and its contributions to charity and morality.
Let us look at General criticisms against organised, history and culturally based spiritiality. These may include Critics often arguing that spirituality, especially when it’s individual or non-institutional, can be too vague, subjective, or lacking in structure, which might lead to superficiality or misuse. This came manily as a result of colonialism and active erasure of bantu tribes’ records all over the world. Another critisism you may face is that some modern spiritual movements are often commercialized, promoting products, retreats, or practices for profit rather than genuine spiritual development. Lastly, since spirituality is highly personal and varied, critics say it can lack a coherent set of beliefs or ethics, making it easier for different or conflicting ideas to coexist, sometimes leading to confusion or relativism.
If you ask me, these are the inner and outer versions of the bantu. All we need to do is humbly keep studying ourselves and discovering more about this world of ours.
Which brings me to today’s books we must ruead!
Dictionary of All Scriptures and Myths, written by George Arthur Gaskell, is a comprehensive reference work that explores religious texts, myths, legends, and stories from a wide range of cultures and traditions around the world. The book aims to compare and analyze the similarities and differences among various religious scriptures, mythologies, and spiritual teachings, offering insights into their origins, themes, and symbolism. It is often used as a resource for those interested in religious studies, comparative mythology, and the common themes that appear across different spiritual and cultural narratives. This is why it is important that we look into it in our book club, to better understand ourselves through the two pillars that provide structure to our complex inner and outer excistance. Ashe bantu!

Let’s take a dive into the book with a summary.
Why does the bible matter so much?
The King James Version (KJV) of the Bible is often seen as a religious and literary masterpiece—but beneath the poetic verses and historical stories lies something deeper. For spiritual seekers and students of esoteric traditions, the Bible is not just a book of commandments or ancient tales—it is a symbolic map of the human soul.
Drawing on the profound this book we are reading of George Arthur Gaskell in The Dictionary of All Scriptures and Myths, we can begin to uncover how the Bible encodes universal truths using symbols, numbers, and hidden structures. These are meant not only to inspire, but to initiate the reader into spiritual awareness.
🔍 The Bible as a Code
The word “Bible” may have come from the word Biblios Helios. Helios Biblios refers to a book associated with zodiac signs, for esoteric readers, it is a sacred manuscript where truth about bantu is hidden in plain sight. Just like ancient myths and initiation texts of spirituality, the Bible uses symbols, parables, and allegories to speak a secret language to those ready to receive it.
“Scripture is a veil under which is hidden the sacred doctrine.” – George Gaskell
🌿 Decoding Familiar Stories
Let’s take a closer look at how the esoteric lens shifts our understanding of familiar biblical stories:
🌳 Adam and Eve – The Awakening of Consciousness
On the surface, it’s about disobedience and exile. But symbolically:
- Adam represents divine mind (masculine principle).
- Eve symbolizes the emotional or sensory soul (feminine principle).
- The Serpent stands for hidden wisdom and the force of awakening.
- The Tree of Knowledge marks the duality of material awareness.
- The Fall is not a punishment—but a descent of soul into the physical world for the sake of evolution.
Let’s keep going…
🧩 Key Codes Within the Bible
🔢 Numerology
Biblical numbers are never random. Each one carries spiritual significance:
| Number | Esoteric Meaning |
|---|---|
| 3 | Divine unity (e.g. Trinity) |
| 7 | Completion, spiritual cycles (7 days) |
| 12 | Cosmic order (12 tribes, 12 disciples) |
| 40 | Testing and transformation (flood, desert) |
Example: The 7 days of Creation mirror spiritual stages, spiritual centers also known in spirituality called the 7 Major Chakras—that teach us the process of moving from pure thought (Light) to full materialization (Man) and back to pure light. This reflects the journey of inner creation within each person.
🔠 Letters and Word Codes
Gaskell highlights the deeper meaning of sacred words:
- The Hebrew word “Emet” (Truth) is made of Aleph-Mem-Tav—the first, middle, and last letters of the Hebrew alphabet—suggesting truth spans all of existence.
- The name “Jesus” (Yeshua) contains the root for “salvation” and symbolically means the inner principle that leads the soul out of darkness.
The books are always meant as a guide for bantu to rise within ourselves, some words will always need to be personally translated, each bantu still needs to ask the spirits within them which truth is their truth.
🧠 Esoteric Principles Hidden in Plain Sight
⚖️ Unity of Opposites
Light and darkness, heaven and earth, male and female—these aren’t just moral contrasts. They reflect the spiritual law of polarity. Enlightenment comes through raising up and unifying both the feminine and musculine principles within, not separating them.
🔥 Inner Initiation
Stories like:
- Jacob’s Ladder = the spinal path of rising awareness/ or the khundalini energy within you.
- Moses’ Burning Bush = the moment when divine presence ignites within/ or the state of Christ.
These aren’t only external miracles—they describe what happens inside you during moments of insight and awakening.
🌊 Exodus: The Soul’s Liberation
The Israelites escaping Egypt mirrors the soul leaving bondage (material attachment) and walking a long path (desert) to divine union (Promised Land). When we let go of stress that coes from the things we wish we had, and accept a deeper presence within ourselves, which is our higher self, we unlock the gates of the kingdom of heaven.
